80% of success is showing up

Woody Allen famously said ‘80% of success is showing up’ and I guess he’s making a point in support of tenacity, determination and plain doggedness.

We need these qualities in meditation but we also need beauty and inspiration otherwise it’s likely to become such a slog that we just dread it or even give up altogether.

So do balance effort and discipline with any aspect of meditation that gives you pleasure; relaxation, flowers on the shrine, lighting a candle or working creatively in the practice.

It was really lovely to see so many of you down on the Coogee headland for our puja last night and practice together under the full moon. Thanks for bearing with my (at times) clumsy attempts / candles blowing out etcetera but I promise that each one from now on will get better and hopefully more magical … thanks so much for supporting it!!

At Claire’s prompting I’ve learnt how to adjust the settings on the Coogee Meditation Group’s Facebook page so that anyone can post on it ….. So go for it
